Person In Charge – Permanent Contract – Full Time

Aurora provides residential and day services for adults with Intellectual Disabilities in a community-based setting with supports. Aurora has a highly trained and dedicated staff of more than 300 health-care professionals catering to the needs of over 80 adults with Intellectual Disabilities.

We are looking for candidates to be a key driver and champion of supporting people to live self-determined lives and to be a central communicator with all stakeholders including families, multi-disciplinary teams, psychologist, senior management, community, employers and others. The PIC will lead the house on a day-to-day basis and in consultation with their line manager when key decisions are being made.  He/she should be flexible in their approach to service provision and have the ability to work as a team member.  He/she will be required to take an active part in ensuring that day-to-day operations of the Services reflect the ethos and vision of Aurora and the needs of the people supported are being met through professional work practices.

 Qualifications Required

  • Must hold a 3rd level qualification of at leave Level 7 In Social Care or Applied Social Care Studies or; A Nursing Qualification – in Intellectual Disability, Psychiatric, General or Children’s.
  • A relevant Management qualification is essential.
  • Registration with CORU (where applicable)

Essential

  • Full clean drivers’ licence and own transportation (Manual)

 

Essential skills and experience:

  • 3 Years managerial experience in a health care role.
  • Proven practical experience or similar experience in a role of this level.
  • Proven knowledge and experience of HIQA standards and Certification.
  • Passion for innovative solutions and process improvement
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proven organisational and time management skills
  • Evidence of effective resource planning
  • The ability to lead the team by example, coaching and supporting individuals
  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills including strong written communication skills
